I took a trip to Callander Bay, Ontario and North Bay in the winter (an unpopular opinion, I know). Here's the thing though: Ontario is absolutely stunning in the winter. And, considering the fact that our province experiences winter-like weather about six months of the year, I think we have to learn to love winter!

There's so much to experience in Callander: from the history (we visited the Heritage Museum and LOVED it) to the art (Alex Dufresne Gallery) to sights (like the Southeast Bay Lighthouse), there's a surprising amount you can experience in Callander. Definitely take time to gof, and walk the Cranberry Trail!
We also visited North Bay - and let me say, it's worth visiting North Bay for sure. Having been only one other time, I had no idea what to expect. The highlight for us was definitely Duchesnay Falls Trails, where you can spend as long or as little as you want.

When it comes to visiting and appreciating Northern Ontario in the winter, I just say: pack layers. We visited mid-March and experienced a wide range of weather conditions, but try to being cold, just pack layers.

I present to you images from the North. I hope you can see what my camera saw: that there's many moments, big and small, that we can see in the north.
