Tactics to Grow a Pinterest

Marketers will often parrot the same advice to grow on social media, but they're often surface level or don't work.

I'm sharing here exactly the tactics I have used to grow my Pinterest

These are the exact things I have done that successfully helped my Pinterest grow

  1. Post often: 1 per day, aim for 2-3. However, some influencers and even Pinterest have claimed up to 6 pins per day is a strong cadence for growth!

  2. Reuse pins every 2-3 months (new boards, new captions). Pinterest has even come out and said a pin can be reused up to 8 times! Space out how often you do this, and capitalize on the success by putting them on new boards, with new captions, and as many keywords as possible.

  3. Load up the suggested keywords on idea pins (pictured at the bottom of the bottom photo).

  4. Figure out what works, do more of that (examples on my Pinterest: tattoo doodles, office designs).

  5. Have lots you can post about so you have posting options. Vary up your boards and play with your options (for example, I post about social work, but also photography, but also careers, etc.)

  6. Experiment (some of my best pins are experiments, like my wage to salary converter).

  7. Teachable graphics work wonders! Anything you can teach, provide immediate value right on Pinterest. Yes, links to teachable content like in a blog is great, but provide value right on the platform too.

  8. Play to hot topics (ex: video games, plants, decor).
